Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Does the Digital pH TDS EC Meter come with batteries?
A: No, batteries are not included. The meter requires 2× 1.5V LR44 button cell batteries, which are widely available at most stores.
Q: Does this meter need to be calibrated before use?
A: The pH meter is factory pre-calibrated and can be used straight out of the box. However, for the highest accuracy, we recommend calibrating it using the included pH 4.00 and pH 6.86 buffer powders. The calibration process is simple and only takes a few minutes.
Q: What is TDS and why does it matter for water quality?
A: TDS stands for Total Dissolved Solids — it measures the concentration of inorganic salts and organic matter (such as calcium, magnesium, and sodium) dissolved in water, expressed in parts per million (ppm). Monitoring TDS helps you gauge the overall purity of your water, whether for an aquarium, drinking water, hydroponics, or pool maintenance.
Q: Can I use this tester for my aquarium?
A: Absolutely! This meter is ideal for aquarium use. Maintaining the correct pH and TDS levels is critical for the health of fish and aquatic plants. Simply dip the electrode into your tank water and get an instant reading — no test strips needed.
Q: How deep can I submerge the electrode in liquid?
A: Do not submerge the electrode more than 4 cm (the maximum immersion level marked on the device). Exceeding this depth could damage the meter.
