Automotive Battery Leakage & Parasitic Draw Detection Tool
Keep your vehicle's electrical system in top shape with this multi-functional Automotive Battery Leakage Detection Tool. Designed for DIY mechanics and professional technicians alike, this compact circuit tester quickly identifies parasitic draw and dark current issues that silently drain your battery — so you're never caught off guard with a dead vehicle.
Key Features
- Streamlined Electrical Diagnostics: Instantly detects parasitic draw and battery drain, simplifying troubleshooting for starting and electrical system issues across all vehicle types.
- Real-Time Digital Display: Provides live readings of battery voltage and parasitic current with a clear digital meter, delivering accurate, easy-to-read results during routine maintenance or diagnostic sessions.
- Dark Current Detection: Specifically targets low-level dark current leakage — the hidden culprit behind slow battery discharge — helping you keep batteries fully charged between drives.
- Wide Vehicle Compatibility: Works with cars, trucks, RVs, motorcycles, ATVs, boats, and more. Also useful for other equipment with 12V electrical systems such as printers and generators.
- Built-In 10A Fuse Protection: Comes pre-installed with a 10A fuse for safe operation. Replacement fuses of the same specification can be used if needed.
- Compact & Lightweight: Weighs only ~90g and features a convenient clip-wire design (black wire ~30cm, red clip wire ~40cm) for easy, hands-free connections at the battery terminal.

How to Use
- Stop the vehicle, turn off the engine, and remove the key.
- Open the hood and lock the doors, then wait for the vehicle to enter sleep mode.
- Clamp the spring clip onto the negative battery terminal post.
- Attach the black clip to the negative battery cable clamp and the red clip to the positive terminal.
- Loosen and disconnect the negative battery cable clamp from the terminal post.
- Read the value on the digital display. A reading of 50 mA will show as 0.05A.
- After measurement, disassemble the tool before reconnecting the negative battery cable to avoid sparking.
What's in the Box

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What does the automotive battery leakage detection tool measure?
A: This tool measures parasitic draw and dark current in your vehicle's electrical system. It displays real-time voltage and current readings (in milliamps/amps) so you can identify which circuits may be drawing power when the vehicle is off and causing slow battery discharge.
Q: Is this battery leakage detector compatible with my vehicle?
A: Yes — this tool is compatible with a wide range of vehicles including cars, trucks, motorcycles, RVs, ATVs, and boats, as well as other 12V electrical equipment. It's a versatile solution for almost any automotive electrical diagnostic need.
Q: Do I need to run the engine while using this tool?
A: No — do NOT start the engine during testing. Always turn off the engine and remove the key before use. Starting the engine while the tool is connected can damage the built-in fuse. Wait for the vehicle to enter sleep mode before taking a reading for the most accurate results.
Q: What does it mean if the display shows "0"?
A: If the meter displays 0, it indicates that the standby current is below 30 mA (the tool's starting threshold), which means there is no detectable leakage in your vehicle's electrical system. This is a normal, healthy result for most vehicles.
