How to Use Your Soldering Iron

  1. Clean the parts and surfaces to be joined.
  2. Clean the soldering tip and "tin" it with a light coating of solder.
  3. Heat the parts (not the solder directly) using the iron tip.
  4. Apply flux-core solder to the heated parts — let it melt and flow freely.
  5. Allow the joint to cool undisturbed before moving.

⚠️ Safety Tips: Always use the included iron stand when the unit is plugged in. Avoid pulling on the cord. Do not file the iron-plated tip or apply excessive solder. A small amount of smoke may appear on first use — this is normal and will stop quickly.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is the temperature range of this 60W adjustable soldering iron?

A: The SLADE 908 soldering iron features a fully adjustable temperature range of 200°C to 450°C (approximately 392°F to 842°F). Simply turn the control knob on the handle to set your desired temperature for any task, from delicate electronics to heavier solder joints.

Q: Can I use this soldering iron in the US and in Europe?

A: Yes! This soldering iron is available in both a US plug (110V AC) and an EU plug (220V AC) version. Make sure to select the correct plug type for your region before purchasing. It is not a universal dual-voltage auto-switching unit — each version is rated for its respective voltage.

Q: Does the soldering iron come with a stand?

A: Yes, a soldering iron stand is included in the package. This stand keeps your hot iron safely elevated when not in active use, protecting your work surface and reducing the risk of accidental burns.

Q: Is the tip replaceable or interchangeable?

A: The soldering iron features an iron-plated, interchangeable tip. Compatible replacement tips are available separately. To extend tip life, avoid filing the tip surface and do not apply excessive solder unnecessarily.

Q: Why is there smoke coming from the tip when I first plug it in?

A: A small amount of smoke on first use is completely normal. This is caused by the protective coating on the tip burning off during initial heating. It will stop within a minute or two and will not happen again during normal use.
